A post-birthday day trip to the fabulous Malibu Lumber Yard off the Pacific Coast Highway. We love hitting Maxfield to admire a meticulously curated mix of vintage and high-end designs from Hermès to Greg Lauren (Ralph's nephew) for one-of-a-kind pieces, and new designers like 6397 for interesting takes on denim. Would love to show pics but Maxfield has a strict 'no photos' policy. Good thing they're dog friendly, though.
After lunch, we wandered into Madison and found such a fresh selection of mid and higher end pieces in this terrific yet laid back boutique, including a range of shoes, bags, and denim -- Valentino, Marni, YSL, Golden Goose, Rag & Bone, Current/Elliott, and J Brand.
Finally, the get: Kristin chose well, a perfectly distressed J Brand denim boyfriend jacket from Madison. Seems like this spring, you need to find that perfect denim topper to live in -- and we got completely side-tracked obsessing over it. Think prunk! And with the right light wash, even double denim is a no brainer. And for Lee Ann? A delicate rose gold Jacquie Aiche first knuckle ring from Fred Segal.
